This soft and splendid display of ravenous and tragic white is most enjoyable when clicked two separate times onto the Flickr site with a black background. Suddenly we see the glory of Chinese porcelain from the time of white blossoms and deeply liquid black glazes. The image floats as a kind of pure and tearful land suspended deep and secure, recessed in the surround. As a progression of images on Paris Bird, it strikes a delicate, tender, and heartfelt note as it is preceded by a blossom so imprisoned. Now we pull back and find a place of freedom. So shadowy but real, so ephemerally there. And there is where the air is rare and flowers flow so sweetly.

One could write all together another... the colors in this tearful place. The merest hallucination of pinks so perfectly augmenting and complicating the white. The icy blues so warm and frosty. And the earth of grays and browns and greens. The time of day when color is the star, though a subtle one at that.
